Junior and Senior Infants have been enjoying 'Funky Fingers' activities to develop their fine motor skills. These activities are so important to develop the small muscles needed to write.

September Aistear: The Three Little Pigs
Junior and Senior Infants have been busy bees this September! Our new infants are settling in well to 'Big School' and have been having great fun exploring our Aistear theme- 'The Three Little Pigs'. Every day the children learn through play at a new station, developing their oral language and social skills.
Our budding artists have been making 'The Three Little Pigs' houses using sticks, bricks and straw.
.
In our socio dramatic station they have been acting out the story. There's been a lot of huffing and puffing but the tent is still standing!
In our 'Messy Play' area we have been making the three little pigs and their houses using play dough
In 'Small World' we have been building the Three Little Pigs houses.
Luckily we have a few handymen around to fix anything the wolf blows down!
No wolf will be able to get past this fence!
We have been practising our turn taking skills at our Maths station, playing Bingo and matching games.

🏃♀️ Manning Cross Country Event 2019 🏃♂️
Well done to the boys and girls from 3rd to 6th class who competed in the Manning Cross Country event this year in Loughrea's Athletic Grounds in Bushfield last Wednesday. The day was beautiful albeit a little hot for running in hence the tired red faces but everyone did themselves proud with some really excellent performances in terms of race tactics and endurance. Many thanks to our parents who helped transport our pupils on the day and supported our athletes during their races. Well done to all involved.

😮Seeing Double 👀
This year it's very much a case of teachers and pupils having to do “a double take” when, for what is possiblily a first for our school, we are in the very unusual but wonderful position of having three sets of twins attending Kilrickle N.S.

🌼 School Summer Gardening 🌻
We are very grateful to all the parents and children who helped in maintaining the school garden over the summer. The garden looks great after the holidays and this is down to the brilliant work carried out by all
involved. The summer maintenance rota was a great success and we hope to carry this idea forward into the future.
Gardening expert; Kay Synott will be back this September to guide usfurther with our school garden and help us achieve our Green School Biodiversity Flag this year.
Many hands make light work. Míle buíochas.
