The Restaurant

This month we have been exploring the theme of 'The Restaurant' in Aistear. We set up our own restaurant where we played the roles of waiters, chefs and customers.

We made some delicious looking food at our Play Dough Station...

...And got creative making our own menus

In 'Small World' we made our own restaurants. Everyone worked really hard and we made great use of our imaginations. We had car parks, play areas and outdoor seating areas for customers. Some of us even made our own B&B so that our customers could stay the night!

Room on the Broom!

Something strange has been happening in Kilrickle these past 2 weeks! Our Junior and Senior Infants have all turned into witches as our classroom was turned into a Potions Lab! After reading Julia Donaldson's 'Room on the Broom' our little witches and warlocks have been making some disgusting potions and casting spells!

 Mmmmm extra worms!!!!

They also made their own scary witches at the Art Station and acted out the story.

 "Iggety Ziggety Zaggety Zooooooom!!!"

 There's plenty of room on this broom!

Autumn Aistear

Our Infant classes have been learning all about Autumn these past weeks. We were very lucky to have Kay Synnott give us a hand harvesting our vegetables from our school garden. We also planted some flowers that will bloom in the Spring and Summertime.

In Aistear the children have been busy selling our vegetables in their 'Farm Shop'. There is great demand for apple tarts and butter made in store too!!!

In small world we have been making sheds to house the cattle as the weather is getting colder.

We have been playing Autumn 'I spy' and looking for signs of Autumn in our games area.

 We read the story 'Don't hog the hedge', learned the song 'Holly the Hedgehog' and made our own little creatures from clay.
